In Porto, where art lives side by side with nature, we set out to create something more than just another brand for a building, a place with identity, purpose, and aesthetic sensibility.
We started from a very specific area: Serralves, where art, architecture, and gardens intertwine in one of the best contemporary art museums in Europe.
We wanted the project to breathe that visual culture, while also expressing the pleasure of living well, in a building with a 600m² garden, a space that brings people together and inspires.
We began by asking simple questions: What if the garden wasn’t just an outdoor space, but the true emotional center of the project?
What if art wasn’t only on the walls, but embedded in the very way of living?
The name emerged from that intersection: Avant Garden.
A semantic fusion of “avant-garde” (the artistic vanguard) and “garden” (the symbol of this project’s essence).
It’s a name that brings together two worlds: The sophistication of art and the essential simplicity of nature.
The signature encapsulates this vision: The Art of Living Well.
It’s about living with quality. With beauty. With time to breathe.
About the logo: The cut-out, flowing typography reflects the fusion of the natural and the creative. Its forms evoke leaves, shadows, graphic compositions everything in a balance between design and organicity.
Inspired by Serralves, yet with its own signature, Avant Garden is conceived as a brand for an urban refuge where architecture engages with art: a green, beating heart that invites pause, connection, and creation.
